 Joyce Lieberman's colorful Musically themed Paintings and collages are hanging at The Neighborhood Music School for the second half of 2014.  Her musically themed works have hung at the Hollywood Bowl and the Colburn Music School as well as many galleries, public places and residences across the United States.

Students and their Parents have been enjoying the artworks while waiting and taking their fine musical classes.

A Reception to meet and greet Joyce Lieberman is planned for Nov 8 from 6:30-8:30

Student combos will entertain casually.

Lieberman's artworks are all for sale. She has a wide variety of inexpensive posters available also.

Brand Library Renovations in Glendale, CA

 

Got out to see the new renovations at the elegant Brand Library this weekend in Glendale.
My friend Srboojie Amadjian was exhibiting in the new gallery space in a group of 5 women. The artist gallery space had not changed much during the 2 year renovation but the main library was really altered and very remarkable.
The new renovations were really interesting. They had taken off the cottage cheese texture on the ceilings and found lathe and plaster frescos below that were pretty beat up. They framed a few of the pieces to show the inspiration and had recreations of the designs painted on the ceilings. Each room had it's own palette. As I looked from room to room, I could see through the opening to the others and the combinations were really magnificent. Go see for yourself at the Brand Library in Glendale, CA.

HUGE Original "Unstill Life", Acrylic and collage on paper, 5'x7'4" from 1989.
This led to a large body of paintings which include The "Unstill Life" and the "Fiesta" series by Joyce Lieberman. I set it out thinking I might rework it but I must just let it be. It's stronger than I am.

Joyce Lieberman's paintings are at the Talking Stick for the month of October! The Talking Stick is a coffee/lunch and musical venue located at 1411-C Lincoln in Venice at the corner of Lincoln and California.

With it's colorful walls and lively spirit, it's a great fit for Lieberman's huge oils from BC/Before California days in Texas and her 18 foot canvas "Trifecta" created in 3 sections with mops and brooms and other paint brushes in her Venice Garden. Lieberman is in her 29th year in Venice painting and gardening. Many of her paintings are created in the garden. One piece from her ongoing UNSTill Life series entitled "Summer" is also on view.

Other notables are her enchantment with the huge ballerina/clown at Rose and Main in the framed painting "My Barofsky". Like the famed Venice Artist Jonathon Barofsky who created the clown, Lieberman has added strings of numbers to the piece as he was known for numbering everything he made. That androgenous oversize sculpture seems to typify the Venice spirit. The piece hung in Rosendahl's office for the last five years.

Summer Cafe Exhibitions
